Today’s Assignment:

 Topic: Design in Square

 Draw a 16 cm square or suitable to your drawing paper. In this square, draw an attractive design with the help of the following elements and colour it.

  • Three circles of different sizes.
  • Two rectangles of different sizes.
  • Two triangles of different sizes.
  • Two straight lines.
  • One curve line.

For the final artwork you can use compass, ruler etc.

 Guidelines:

  • Read the given topic carefully and try to understand the subject properly.
  • Instead of directly starting with the final drawing, make three to four rough sketches of the given subject.  Make different compositions using free hand so that you can got a good result of the design.
  • Draw these rough sketches without using the compass or the ruler.  Do not take more than fifteen minutes to draw these rough sketches.
  • Select one of the rough sketches which you like and draw the final drawing within the given outer shape, according to the sketch.
  • Draw the outer shape as instructed at the center of the drawing paper.
  • In this outer shape, compose and faintly draw the elements with as few lines as possible, according to the selected sketch.
  • If you are satisfied with the composition and placement of the elements, then complete the design with the help of ruler and compass.
  • After the drawing is completed, start to colour it with suitable colours.


 Materials to use:

 You may use any one or a combination of the following medium.

  • Pencil / Oil Pastels / Water Colour / Poster Colour / Mixed Medium
